3/9/2025 - I want to share with you how birding has changed the way I walk in the world. I have always loved and been fascinated by birds, but in 2023 this interest deepened as I set out to learn the distinct calls of the species in my local area. Suddenly, still mornings became animated by the world of birds unfolding all around me — a world that had been flying just above my head for years. This newfound awareness has deepened my connection to the natural world, a grounding reminder that I am only a piece in an intricate, ever-evolving ecosystem. Each and every day, the birds’ songs remind me to move through life with curiosity, humility, and reverence for the world around me.
